Clare on Personhood
August 16, 2007

My three-year-old daughter said these things today.
To me:
[starting to cry] "I'm not a blanket, I'm a person!" (She was on the bed. So I made a mistake, sue me.)
To mommy:
"Bach was a person. He wrote lots and lots of music and Daddy played it all day and people call the music 'Bach' which actually means it was written by Bach but people just call the music Bach because that's who wrote it. He's dead now, but he used to be alive, and that's when he wrote all the music. Actually, I'm a person too and when I die I will go to heaven with you and Gracie and Daddy and Pete."
Tomorrow's post: why I was playing so much Bach and why the whole family has Bach on the brain.

Perhaps it’s something in the air because I, too, have been playing a lot of Bach recently.
Curious minds want to know:
What Bach have you been playing?
What instrument have you been playing it on?
